Short term needs:
Educational:
- Computers

- Steel cabinets to keep above mentioned equipment safe.
- Desks and chairs for classrooms.
- Air conditioning system in the computer room to protect equipment against our summer temperatures that regularly exceed 35 degrees centigrade.
- The pre school class currently uses part of the junior hostel as a class room. We are planning a suitable pre school center to accommodate the learners.
Therapeutic:
- Treatment mats and suitable carpet for physiotherapy department.
- Art equipment for art therapy.
- Wheelchairs
Sport:
- Racing wheelchair
- Gymnasium equipment
Hostels:
- Toiletries e.g. Soap, tooth paste, shampoo, body cream.
- Warm winter school clothes, especially for children from rural areas.
- Wardrobes in the hostels for the children's' clothes.
- Toys and games for play rooms.
- Cupboards in playrooms for storage of toys.
- Notice boards for better communication and distribution of information.
- Dishwasher for hostel kitchen.
- Washing machine and tumble dryer for laundry.
Sick bay:
We are experiencing a sharp increase in the number of learners with serious, often life threatening, conditions. We need to convert a linen room next to the Nurses' office into a sick bay area where these learners can receive proper care and supervision.
Volunteers:
At this stage volunteers come once a week to teach Sunday school. During exam times we train people from the community, usually retired teachers, to assist severely disabled and dyslexic students with the writing of exams. People interested in volunteer work can contact the school, and can get involved with the development of recreational rooms, and the organizing of recreational activities, especially over weekends.
Long term planning:
- Buildings: Most of the buildings are old, and in need of upgrading and repairs. Floor covering like carpets, non slip surfaces and concrete slabs are in desperate need of replacements
- Maintenance: Many walls need painting and woodwork needs revarnishing. At this stage we repair the buildings as funds become available - usually after a major fund raising effort by the staff
- Installment of heaters in junior hostels and school class rooms.
New buildings:
- Hostel for learners in the age group 12 to 14 years - to accommodate 20 learners.
- Class rooms to accommodate learners doing the college course..
- Class rooms and equipment to accommodate the growing number of learners who had no early schooling, and who are in need of skills training and job coaching..
- Class room to be used as computer room for junior learners..
- Hall that can be used for indoor sports activities and social functions..
Grounds:
Development of sports grounds and building of spectator stands and change rooms.
